March Meeting

Our March meeting was an exciting event with our special guest - Ferret! At first glance visitors could have been forgiven for thinking they were going mad as Ferret appeared dress in a beautiful ‘Edwardian’ quilted evening dress, complete with bustle and train.

Ferret showed us an amazing selection of pieces – her ‘20lb flight baggage talk’ This explained why she was wearing the dress –as she usually travels with a mannequin to put the dress on – but due to Ryan Air luggage restrictions she had to model it herself! She also brought with her spectacular leather coat which was quilted and appliqu├ęd with a phoenix and lined with hand dyed fabrics.

We also had another visit from Nikki Foley with her ever popular shop, Nikki brought her friend Romay Bulhes along with her and we were treated to a display of fabulous quilts.

The demonstration this month was 'piping' by Rebecca Palmer. This month’s challenge was to make a fabric bowl. The winner was Claire Lynch.
